Jordan + Laura | Palos Verdes Cliffs, California | Destination Engagement Photographers

One day while surfing Instagram, I got a notification that someone had mentioned us in a post. I clicked on it to see a photo of a gorgeous ring and the words “Manifesto Photography, can you do my engagement and wedding pictures pretty please.” And that’s how I first met Laura. The sweetest, skull and black leather loving girl you’ll ever meet.

Jordan and Laura first met during their high school days while Jordan was playing for the Windsor Spitfires. They now reside in Los Angeles, California where Jordan plays for the LA Kings. After they booked us for their wedding, we spent some time throwing ideas back and forth for their engagement session. What better place could there be than Los Angeles, where they’ve created so many memories together. It was the perfect spot to showcase their life in California to their friends and family back home in Canada.

The session below is part 1 of 3, so keep your eyes out for the beauty to come!

Jordan & Laura, thank you again for bringing us out to Cali for your session! It was great to spend some time together, touring around, and enjoying a hockey game! Thank you for your hospitality and also for introducing us to your awesome friends (shout outs to Zach and Taylor). We can’t wait to photograph your wedding very soon at the beautiful Mastronardi Winery

Alyssa & Jeff | Leamington, Ontario Engagement Photographers

We love meeting couples that are “meant to be,” and that just happens to be the case with Jeff and Alyssa.  The first day Jeff met Alyssa, he told his friend “I’m going to marry that girl,” and he was right! They are the real deal, both as a couple and as individuals. They are as loving and kind as they are generous and genuine souls. We adore them.

For Jeff and Alyssa’s engagement session, we decided to start the session at Thiessen’s Apple Orchard to make some colourful fall memories. Considering Josh’s boyhood home practically backs on to Thiessen’s, this orchard holds a special place in both of our hearts.  We then headed to a nearby beach to catch the sunset. Scrolling through this series of photos, you can see their relationship and personality clearly, their body language says it all. They are close. They are best friends. They have inside jokes. They love to laugh. They are silly. They are in love.

Jeff and Alyssa, from the first meeting with you we felt like we had made two new friends. Thank you for introducing us to your wonderful friends over the last year, and for helping us with Matthew House when we needed a hand. We appreciate you, and are so looking forward to the next time we get together!

Jay + Kristen | Windsor, Ontario Engagement Photographers

Over the last four years we’ve had the privilege of photographing Jay and Kristen quite a few times! However, it was always when they were attending or standing in their friend/family member’s weddings. It was so much fun to finally get these two alone behind the camera together! Well, not quite alone… they did bring along their handsome, gentleman of a dog, Bear!

We decided to use a few different locations to showcase their personalities and love story. Since school has been such a huge part of their life together so far, one of our favourite old country school houses seemed like a great spot to start the shoot. Kristen and Jay are super genuine, and their honest, happy, and loving personalities really shine through the longer you’re around them. We just love it when couples make our job easy. It’s pretty hard to take a bad picture of these two! From Jay’s love of fishing to many days spent boating or relaxing on the beach, water has been a pretty central part in both of their lives. As such, the shoot couldn’t be complete without the water. Jay and Kristen got engaged in Florida on the beach under a full moon (on Valentine’s day). Here’s the story in Kristen’s words:

“…we were walking on the beach looking for sea turtles laying eggs and then sat down in a park on the beach. After talking for about half an hour, I told Jay he was my best friend and he said I was his too. After that perfect moment I suggested we go back to the house. When I got up he told me he was sorry for not getting me a Valentine’s day gift… I told him I didn’t need anything and that this trip was perfect. When I turned around to start walking back to the house he said “Well actually..” I turned around and saw him reaching in his pocket and thought he was joking. He pulled out the box and got down on one knee and asked me to marry him and then i started sobbing and laughing and hugging him and it was perfect. I could only see the ring shining in the moon light which made it look even more beautiful. It really was the best proposal I could have asked for. :)”

Talk about romantic! Jay and Kristen, we had such a blast shooting your engagement session. Thanks for being so willing to brave the waves, and do what you had to do to get ‘the shot’! We hope you love these photos as much as we do. Can’t wait for the wedding. Give bear a hug from us! xo

Chris + Jaclyn | Windsor, Ontario Wedding Photographers

Chris and Jaclyn are the most genuine of people. They are high school sweethearts who still know how to give each other butterflies. You may remember these two from their adorable breakfast on the farm engagement session. Watching them together is a chance to see real love in action.

Their wedding day was filled with personal touches and the people they love most. From the start of the day, you could just feel the excitement and anticipation. Their heartfelt ceremony took place at Holy Name of Jesus Church, and was facilitated by their long time family friend, Father Larry. After the “I do’s” we headed over to Jackson Park for their wedding party photos. It was such a beautiful day! They totally lucked out with the weather. After many laughs under the sun we left for the reception at Fogolar Furlan here in Windsor, Ontario. The room was filled with candles, baby’s breath flowers, and offered a delicious dessert table from Shelby’s Sweet Shoppe.

Chris & Jaclyn, we feel so lucky to have you two for clients! Thank you for choosing us to capture these important moments. We hope you two are loving married life with your new fur baby. Miggy is adorable! We’d love to meet her sometime. Thank you for all of your glowing reviews. We are so looking forward to celebrating your friends weddings together in 2015!

Adam + Sharena | 10 Year Anniversary | Windsor, Ontario Photographers

Capturing people in love is our favourite thing to do. When Sharena and Adam contacted us about shooting photos for their 10 year wedding anniversary we were more thank happy to do so! Once we met with them and got to know them a bit more, we all decided that doing two sessions with two completely different looks and feels was the way to go.

Both Adam and Sharena love the outdoors, and live an active lifestyle. They are also pretty romantic, so we wanted to bring all of those things together in the first session you will see below. Point Pelee National Park always surprises us with it’s beauty. We could shoot there 1000 times and each would be different.

For the second shoot we wanted to show off Sharena’s love of all things vintage, so Essex Train Station was perfect! They got all dolled up, and rocked out some stunning vintage props and outfits. We loved Adam’s leather suspenders and Sharena’s pop of red lipstick.

Thanks, Adam and Sharena, for allowing up to capture this wonderful milestone in your lives! We hope this will be the first of many together. Have an amazing trip to Europe! We can’t wait to see the photos when you get back.

Sergiu + Alice | Hacienda Sarria | Kitchener, Ontario Wedding Photographers

You may remember Sergiu and Alice from their rustic loft engagement session. They are two of the happiest people we’ve met! The reason for their happiness is the deep love they share for God, their family, and friends. They are loyal, hardworking, and creative people. They are humble, sweet, and giving. We truly feel blessed that we were chosen to capture these souls and this love.

Sergiu and Alice’s wedding took place in Kitchener, ON at the incredible Hacienda Sarria. It once was an old industrial building, but has now been transformed into a home and high end venue. It was glamorous and filled to the brim with character. Of course, an absolute joy to photograph!

Although we did get a bit of rain on their wedding day, the bride and groom kept things light and full of fun. From the menu cards, to the seating chart, and personalized signage, nothing was overlooked. The pink and gold decor was as sweet and sparkly as they are. Alice’s Pnina Tornai gown and Sergiu’s Bespoke suit were both out of this world and fit their style and personalities perfectly. Everything came together so nicely.

Sergiu and Alice, we adore you! We hope that we can continue to stay in touch. Please let us know when you’re visiting Windsor next so we can grab some Korean food, and catch up. You both have hearts of gold. Your lives have been a shining example of goodness to us and so many. God bless you as you continue on this journey as husband and wife!

“Marriage is getting to have a sleep over with your best friend, every single night of the week.” -Christie Cook
