Katie & Eric | Sprucewood Shores Estate Winery | Amherstburg, Ontario Wedding Photographers

Katie & Eric’s story began with an introduction through friends. 7 years later, after dating long distance between Toronto and Ottawa where Katie is a teacher and Eric a public servant, they decided to close the gap between their two worlds and make official what they knew to be true: they were better together as one.

We met up with Katie and Eric earlier that morning as they each prepared for their big day. Katie had her hair and makeup done alongside her bridesmaids; she wore an elegant, slim gown accented with a subtle swirled sparkle design, her Jimmy Choo heels adding a touch of flare. Keeping with tradition, Katie borrowed something old-her grandmothers beautiful embroidered bonnet-  and something blue – a gorgeous ring- to complete her look. Eric spent the morning with his groomsmen at a home on the lake, the perfect place to relax before the festivities of the day. The suit he wore was handmade by Raymond Tailor of Distinction, a custom mens outfitter from Ottawa. He pulled his look together with a classic Daniel Wellington watch and soft grey tie.

We then traveled to Sprucewood Shores Estate Winery for an intimate first look before the ceremony. Eric and Katie’s eyes were filled with admiration and excitement when they saw each other for the first time and it only continued throughout their outdoor ceremony. It was July 8th, and the sun shone brightly over the birch arbor that stood above Katie and Eric as they read vows and exchanged rings amongst friends and family and bright green grape vines. They said I do and were pronounced husband and wife!

Celebrations continued into the Sprucewood reception hall where beautiful florals arranged by Petals dotted the room, gold and blush accents adorning the space from top to bottom. Throughout the evening everyone laughed and enjoyed funny, heartfelt speeches, delicious food, and energetic dance moves. There was love in the air, and everyone could feel it!

Eric and Katie, we loved spending your special day with you. You two were so beautiful and we can’t wait to see all the amazing things the future holds for both of you. Wishing you only the very best!

Manifesto Photography | Windsor, Ontario | Sprucewood Shores Estate Winery | Amherstburg, Ontario wedding photographersReviews about Manifesto“Manifesto was fantastic to work with. Arica and Josh made a truly honest effort to get to know us through interviews, questionnaires, and our engagement photo session in order to photograph us in a way that accurately reflected our personalities. In this they absolutely succeeded; we have been more than happy with our photos so far.  In addition, Arica and Josh’s combined experience really showed on our wedding day: they were calm, friendly, and entirely professional. They knew exactly the photos that needed to be taken, and herded families together for larger group shots with the greatest of ease. We are extremely happy that we chose to go with Manifesto Photography for our wedding, and would not hesitate to recommend their services in the future.” – Katie & Eric

OH, I have MISSED visiting your blog!  I am always so in love with your work!  I love how light-hearted and romantic this wedding turned out.  The bride and groom seem like a lot of fun.  My favorite image is the portrait of the two standing on the shore.  It made me stop and scroll a little more slowly to take it all in.  Love the details and the styling all around – great work!ReplyCancel

Kevin & Kaitlind | Heritage Village | Windsor, Ontario Engagement Photographers

Kevin and Kaitlind are the kind of couple who seek adventure. Both love being active through hiking, kayaking, and cycling and one of their fondest memories is the amazing road trip they had on the West coast. When they aren’t outdoors or exploring new places, Kevin and Kaitlind enjoy keeping things low key by staying in and cooking (and eating of course)!

It was only natural that we had Kevin and Kaitlind’s engagement session at Heritage Village since the words they chose to describe their ideal session were romantic, rustic, and timeless. They had gorgeous weather that day, and towards the end of the evening the light of sunset peeked through the surrounding tops of the trees. The old barns and buildings from the late 1700s to 1920’s served as the perfect rustic backdrop; each building was new and unique and added a sense of travel to their photos. This tiny town felt cozy and allowed Kevin and Kaitlind to feel relaxed and comfortable throughout the shoot.

We loved spending the evening together walking, talking, driving, and laughing. We’re so excited for your upcoming wedding day at Sprucewood Shores Estate Winery. We know it will be just as beautiful as your engagement session was!

But it also shows in the details they put into planning our photo shoot. The props, backdrops, body positioning, location – everything had a purpose. The best part was how comfortable they made us feel, especially since we aren’t used to having our photos taken in a professional setting. If you want to be worry-free about how your wedding photos will turn out, hire Manifesto Photography.”- Kevin & Kaitlind

Chuck & Jessica | Mastronardi Estate Winery | Kingsville, Ontario Wedding Photographers

Jessica and Chuck’s story began in Law school where the two met. Soon after, through their shared love of outdoor sports and traveling, they recognized that they’d found the one whom their soul loved best; they had finally found each other. Jessica’s fun-loving demeanour complements Chuck’s funny, inquisitive, personality, and neither one of them can see a future without the other. We were honoured to be apart of their special day this past summer and to capture the growing love between Jessica and Chuck at their beautiful outdoor wedding.

The day started for Jessica at The Iron Kettle in Comber, Ontario; for Chuck, his parents’ house near charming Seacliff Park in Kingsville. Jessica wore a beautiful gown with a sweetheart neckline adorned with French lace and ivory-blush tulle; she pulled everything together with stunning Badgley Mischka heels. Chuck was a perfect accompaniment, wearing an elegant black suit, white tie and shoes by Ted Baker.  Before the ceremony the two were able to steal some precious moments together during their first look in the cool shade of a tree canopy; the way each one looked at the other when they first laid eyes on each other, in awe and admiration, was beautiful.

From there we headed to Mastronardi Estate Winery in Kingsville for Jessica and Chuck’s outdoor wedding ceremony and reception. Under the bright blue sky of a sunny July afternoon, the two said “I do” and celebrated their first steps as husband and wife while Elevation String Quartet serenaded the ceremony. The celebrations continued into the venue, a beautifully romantic hall decorated from top to bottom in accents of warm blush, ivory, and gold. Their reception was filled with delicious food, heartfelt speeches, vibrant dancing, and most importantly- love.

Chuck and Jessica, we loved getting to know you both and loved being with you on your special day. We look forward to seeing all the incredible things in store for you both and wish you nothing but happiness in these new moments of your lives together.

Kristen & Ryan | The Old Harrow Mill & John R. Park Homestead | Windsor, Ontario Engagement Photographers

At midnight on New Year’s Eve, Kristen and Ryan shared their first kiss. It was a kiss a year in the making, the two meeting nonchalantly only to realize their encounter was actually a signpost of fate. They met by chance on Christmas night after being introduced by a mutual friend. A simple meeting, they thought, until they realized through conversation that they were supposed to have met long before! A year earlier, Kristen’s friend had suggested she go on a blind date with a guy (whose name she failed to mention) who was perfect for her. This friend also told Ryan about a girl who would be perfect for him. Life, however, went on and the blind date never happened, and Kristen went on dating all the while wondering about the “guy with no name”.  Fast forward to Christmas night, surrounded by friends, where Kristen and Ryan happen to be in the same room at the same time. The rest is history. Kristen, who enjoys cooking, decorating, and spending time with family soon was a perfect match for Ryan, a kind woodworker who liked working on and driving his Mustang, as well as spending time with family.

We met Kristen, Ryan and Diego (their handsome little greyhound) first at The Old Mill in Harrow, Ontario and then John R. Park in Essex, Ontario for their engagement session. Both locations were a perfect fit for Kristen and Ryan, showcasing their relaxed, comfortable personalities. The strong industrial backdrop of The Old Mill contrasted perfectly with their gentle embraces; their effortless affections towards each other outside at John R. Park in a handmade canoe, surrounded by nature, translated beautifully into their photos. The weather was great throughout the day despite the bit of rain that came close to the end. But that didn’t phase Kristen and Ryan, they still smiled through it all. Rustic floral arrangements by The Bourbon Rose brought a cozy, romantic tone to each shot and we were also lucky to collaborate with Christine Breton of LaFabère, a designer and maker who designed two beautiful keepsakes for the couple; a gorgeous save the date and a hand drawn print of the couples favourite quote by Elvis Presley.

Kristen and Ryan’s love story is the kind you read in stories and see in films. It’s a testament to the whimsical way life can bring people together. Kristen and Ryan, we had a blast during your engagement shoot. You both looked so beautiful and your love for each other was eminent throughout the day. We are so excited to see where life takes you both, what other wonderful stories and adventures you encounter with each other by your side and can’t wait to be with you in April 2017 for your wedding day!

Christine & Derek | Mastronardi Estate Winery | Kingsville, Ontario Wedding Photographers

On July 1st, a beautiful summer day- two high school sweethearts tied the knot. Family and friends gathered together at Mastronardi Estate Winery to witness the marriage of Christine and Derek, two dazzling people who were meant for each other long before they even knew. Both love spending time with family, being outdoors bike riding and walking their dog; these relaxed, easy-going qualities effortlessly translated into their fun, lighthearted wedding day and we were so excited to be there with them!

Earlier that morning we met the couple at their family’s cottage; the bright, airy atmosphere served as the perfect backdrop for Christine and Derek’s romantic first look and gave the two the chance to spend some time alone before the events of the day. Christine looked radiant and timeless in a delicate lace sheath dress from It’s Your Day Bridal Boutique and shoes by Modcloth, her hair styled softly behind her ear. Derek was handsome and debonair in his black suit from Freeds, a skinny tie adding a touch of flare.

From there we traveled to Mastronardi Estate Winery where Christine and Derek had their outdoor ceremony and reception. The day was warm, a slight breeze rustling through the vines as the two said I do surrounded by loving family and friends, bridesmaids in full length beaded gowns and groomsmen in charcoal suits. The reception was elegant and classic with champagne and ivory decor accented by bursts of lilac. The evening was filled with mix and mingling, heartfelt speeches, and amazing dance moves!

Christine and Derek, it was a pleasure working with you both and an honour to take your wedding photos. We wish you nothing but the best in this new chapter of your lives together and look forward to seeing all the wonderful things in store for you both in the future!

Matthew & Amy | Mastronardi Estate Winery | Kingsville, Ontario Wedding Photographers

The moment Matthew saw Amy- tired yet elated from traveling from New York by plane, train, and automobile to Pearson Airport in Toronto so she could surprise Matthew with a handmade sign saying, All I want for Christmas is You- he knew she was the one; they were all each other ever wanted. So on a warm August day, Amy and Matthew told one another in an intimate ceremony surrounded by love and warm wishes that all they wanted was to say I do, once and for all.

Amy’s morning started off with her and her best bridesmaids getting ready for the events of the day. Amy wore an elegant gown designed by Pronovias Barcelona, adorned with soft lace from top to bottom and a delicate veil; she pulled her outfit together with some classic Manolo Blahnik heels. Her bridesmaids each wore soft blush gowns from Here Comes The Bride.

Matthew and his guys began their day with some cold brews before getting dressed in sharp suits from Freeds. Matthew wore a dark navy suit created by Bosco Uomo, his look pulled together with a cream tie and dress shoes by ECCO.

The day was full of fun and celebration as Amy and Matthew’s wedding day continued from St. Joseph’s Church in Leamington to the reception at Mastronardi Estate Winery. Beautiful floral arrangements by The Flower Shop at Theissen’s adorned the room and muted pastels colours accented with gold details served as the perfect, romantic, backdrop to continue their festivities. The evening contained delicious food, heartfelt speeches, lots of dancing and most importantly, a lot of happiness bursting from Amy and Matthew!

Amy and Matthew, congratulations on your wedding day! We are incredible grateful that you chose us was your engagement and wedding photography. We know your attention to detail, and being hand picked by you has meant a lot! We wish you both health, happiness and many, many, more adventures in the days ahead!

A Review from the Couple

“We put a painstaking amount of thought and consideration into every decision of our wedding planning. None was easier or more rewarding than choosing Manifesto Photography to capture our day.  From our very first meeting Josh and Arica surpassed our lofty expectations and quickly became an integral part of our journey. They were a great source of support providing a sense of calm throughout the process especially on our hectic day. They are the consummate professionals and their work is second to none. As two very picky accountants, we were blown away with their attention to detail. Whether it was fixing stray hairs, correcting the arch of a back or changing the placement of the bouquet, they were on top of it. We also greatly appreciated their thorough preparation. It was because of their organized timeline that we were able to squeeze in so many precious shots in such a limited time. They were able to capture so many special moments and candid reactions of family and friends that we will cherish forever. Thank you! Josh and Arica are more than amazing photographers, they are great people and we would wholeheartedly recommend them to everyone! We look forward to seeing them at two more of our friends’ weddings later this year!” -Amy & Matthew

Sean & Natasha | Banff National Park, Alberta | Destination Engagement Photographers

One of the first thing you’ll notice about Natasha and Sean is how much they’re in love. The way they look at each other, the way one gently reaches for the others hand- they’re smitten and we were so excited to travel from Windsor to Banff to photograph their incredible engagement session!

After living for a short while in Toronto, Natasha and Sean made the big decision to pack their lives, their bags, and their adorable dog, Rufus, and head west to Alberta for the biggest adventure they could ever imagine. A couple with a shared love of the great outdoors, they both enjoy winter sports like skiing (Sean) and snowboarding (Natasha), having bonfires together with family and friends; going on walks with Rufus and looking for small, local, coffee shops to spend a rainy afternoon in. It quickly became clear to Natasha and Sean that Banff could be a place to comfortably put down roots; a few months after moving to Alberta, they became engaged and purchased their first house!

Banff in October was everything we could have hoped for. The weather was warm, milder than expected for the end of the month which was the best outcome for our outdoor engagement session. The mountains stood high in the distance, the tops slightly snow-capped and created the perfect backdrop for our warm, romantic photoshoot. Whether it was trekking through pine forests or walking through vast fields surrounded by mountains and lakes, the beauty of Banff only enhanced Natasha and Sean’s playful personality and made it easy to capture them in their element.

Natasha and Sean, we loved every moment shooting your beautiful engagement session. It was a pleasure to spend the day with you exploring, laughing, and enjoying a great meal at the end of the night. The year ahead will hold so many new moments of joy for your little family and we couldn’t be happier for you! We can’t wait to see you on your wedding day, Rufus included!

“She knew she loved him when ‘home’ went from being a place to being a person.” – E. Leventhal

Destination Banff engagement session | Manifesto Photography | Engagement and Wedding photographers based in Windsor, Ontario
Reviews about Manifesto“For us, the most important piece of wedding planning was picking the right photographer that could ensure capturing the amazing moments of both engagement and wedding day. To be entirely honest, we knew nothing about photographers and what the whole processed entailed. There was no doubt in our minds that we wanted to sit down and meet with Arica and Josh at Manifesto Photography after seeing their work online and reading reviews. Living on the other side of the country, sitting down to meet with photographers face to face was almost impossible. However, this was not the case with Arica and Josh. They went above and beyond to be available on short notice when we knew we would be coming to town and made sure they made the time to meet with us. Upon going to their house and sitting down to speak about our wants and needs as well as what Arica and Josh offered, it was a pretty easy choice- our first and only face to face meeting with photographers. They were extremely professional, genuine, caring people that wanted to be sure they understood “us”.  (more…)
