Nikkie & Denis | LaSalle, Ontario | Windsor, Ontario Engagement Photographer

When you decide you want to spend the rest of your life with someone, you want the rest of your life to start right then and there. That’s how Denis felt when he decided to propose to Nikkie during their surprise trip to Cuba. He planned to propose during dinner, overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, with his late mother’s wedding band, but happiness and sheer excitement got the better of him and he ended up proposing before they could even make it down to the beach! The two shared an intimate moment they couldn’t put into words, and it made their dinner even more memorable and special.

Nikkie & Denis met in high school and have been together ever since. They both enjoy being in nature, exploring Point Pelee National Park, playing tennis, bike riding, and going on coffee dates. One of their favourite memories is the time they visited Lambeau Field in Wisconsin to cheer on the Green Bay Packers under a wet snowfall, a hot chocolate and whiskey safely in-hand.

We met up with Nikkie and Denis on one of the last warm days in September on their boat in LaSalle. It was the perfect location for their romantic, down-to-earth engagement session. The day couldn’t have been any better; the weather was mild, the sun was golden, and Nikkie and Denis seemed so at home being outdoors in the sunshine, it was easy to capture the laid-back qualities of their relationship. After shooting some pretty photos on the boat accompanied by glasses of bubbly champagne, we made our way back to land for a few more shots on the dock before ending our session with a sit-down by a small barrel fire to keep warm as we watched the evening turn into night.

Nikkie and Denis, we have loved getting to know you both through taking your engagement photos and we are so excited for the bright future you’ll soon share as husband and wife! We wish you nothing but the best in this new season of your lives together.

“Nobody has ever measured, even poets, how much a heart can hold.” — Zelda Fitzgerald

Caitlyn & Adam | Sprucewood Shores Estate Winery | Windsor, Ontario Engagement Photographers

It’s nice when you find someone you click with, someone who you feel you can do just about anything with; Caitlyn and Adam are a testament to this statement. Whether it’s trying different breweries and wineries, hanging out watching movies, or walking their beautiful Siberian Huskies Arya and Theia, they know how to make their time enjoyable simply by having the other by their side.

We met Caitlyn and Adam at Sprucewood Shores Estates Winery for their rustic, romantic, engagement shoot one warm September evening. Under shaded trees Caitlyn and Adam nestled close together holding each others hands, laughing, stealing kisses here and there. By then the sun had started setting and we wanted to make the most of the light left in the day, so we walked between the rows of green grape vines burning deep gold in the dwindling light for a couple photos before heading to the beach for a glass of red wine and a beautiful sunset. We ended our shoot as Caitlyn and Adam walked along the lake shore hand in hand, the water gently sweeping towards the sand.

Caitlyn and Adam we were so thrilled to take your engagement photos. We are so excited for the the future you four (Arya and Theia included) have together and can’t wait to see you once again at your wedding!

“The most beautiful sunset is when you have it with your beloved one and the most beautiful sunrise is quite the same.” – Galina Nelson

Manifesto Photography | Windsor Ontario Engagement Photographers | Sprucewood Shores Estate Winery | Amherstburg OntarioReviews about Manifesto“One of the most important decisions we made while planning our wedding was the photographer we would choose to document the most important day of our lives. This decision weighed heavily on us. After spending weeks looking through what feels like hundreds of photographers online portfolios, we could not help but feel like nothing measured up to the work we saw displayed by Manifesto Photography. After that, the choice was simple — we needed to have Manifesto photograph our special day. We knew if we had gone with anyone else that we would have had a nagging thought in the back of our minds that our photos would have turned out better had we gone with Manifesto Photography. It was so important to us to have Arica and Josh as our wedding photographers that we even moved our wedding day to a date they were available.

Our initial meeting with Arica and Josh was so reassuring that we had made the right decision. They made us feel comfortable, and they were so easy to talk to. It didn’t feel like we were meeting two people for the first time, it felt like we were catching up with longtime friends. They were so approachable yet maintained such great level of professionalism. They really made an effort to get to know us and cared about making sure the photographs they took were true to our personalities. They were so helpful and thought of so many details that we hadn’t even considered.

When it came to working with Arica and Josh for our engagement session they were nothing short of amazing. They exceeded all of our expectations and they made sure everything was perfect. There were even a couple times Josh would stop in the middle of shooting to fix my hair to ensure they captured the perfect shot. Adam had an unexpected rip in the side seam of his pants and Josh quickly rushed to grab his “emergency kit” and fixed him right up. They went above and beyond, and we’re so grateful that they care as much as they do. The amount of effort they put into each shot truly shows in the our engagement photos. The smiles that you see in these pictures are genuine — mostly because every time we tried to crack a fake smile Arica and Josh had us rolling with laughter, ensuring they were capturing candid moments.  To say we enjoyed ourselves would be an understatement. They were so easy to work with and I think that’s apparent in our photographs.  When we received our sneak peak engagement photos we were over the moon with excitement. Just as we had expected, Manifesto had delivered perfect results. When it came time to choose which photographs we would include in our album we had such a hard time narrowing down our favourites because they delivered so many picture perfect moments.

We have no doubt that our wedding photographs will be absolutely incredible. As long as we have Arica and Josh capturing our most precious moments, they will be documented beautifully. We would not hesitate to recommend Manifesto Photography to anyone looking for wedding photographers. By choosing them you’re ensuring that your memories will be captured to perfection.”-Caitlyn & Adam

Drew & Shelby | Warkentin’s Christmas Tree Farm | Leamington, Ontario | Windsor, Ontario Engagement Photographers

Shelby and Drew are the sweetest couple, and it’s not only because Shelby owns her own amazing bakery, Shelby’s Sweet Shoppe! When Shelby isn’t coming up with mouthwatering, instagram-able desserts for her bakery, the two of them have the best time together hanging outdoors, laughing, and dreaming big for their future together.

For Shelby and Drew’s engagement session, we went with a cozy, lighthearted theme to highlight the couples relaxed, easy-going personalities. We met up with them at Warkentin’s Christmas Tree Farm in Leamington, a spacious lot dotted with beautiful pine trees and woodsy forests. As soon as our shoot began, Shelby and Drew felt at-ease playfully stringing popcorn garland around the top of tiny pines, cozying up to hot chocolate with big fluffy marshmallows, and falling softly into the others shoulder almost as if the camera wasn’t even there. Shelby brought along some of her delicious baked goods to accent the session and we had pretty florals from CJH Florals add a festive touch to their picturesque shoot.

As the autumn sun slowly set over the tips of the pines, our engagement session slowly transitioned from charming and cute to romantic and dreamy, the lights from the classic ’66 Ford F100 creating a soft silhouette of Shelby and Drew.

Shelby and Drew we always have a blast with you guys and are so excited to see what the future holds for both of you! We wish you nothing but health, happiness, and the best of times together!

“As a fellow wedding vendor, I’ve had the pleasure of working alongside Manifesto Photography and admiring their work (including shots of my sweets!) many times over the past 5 years. So when I got engaged, my mind was already made up that they would be the ones capturing our wedding. Josh & Arica made taking these photos such a relaxing and easy experience! Somehow they manage to pay careful attention to perfecting every detail of a shot, all while capturing genuine moments. I’d dreamed of a Christmas tree farm engagement shoot for quite some time, and these photos turned out better than I could have ever imagined. Manifesto has a true gift for bringing ideas, passions, and personalities to life, and turning them into gorgeous, unforgettable photos. We are so happy we chose Manifesto to photograph some of our most important memories!” – Shelby & Drew

Allie & Max | Beach Grove Golf and Country Club | Windsor, Ontario Engagement Photographers

Some people meet the love of their life way before they even know. For Allie and Max, this couldn’t be truer. Their story begins in grade school when the two would walk home together as classmates, unaware and unknowing that their future selfs would eventually marry. One day however, later in the future, they knew; they knew what young Max with the charming smile and young Allie with clear blue eyes didn’t; these two old classmates were perfect for each other and they were going to get married. Whether it’s lounging by the pool, sharing a bottle of wine, or going for walks reminiscent of their younger years, Allie’s gentle demeanour complements Max’s relaxed personality and both can safely say they’ve found the one their heart loves.

One August evening we met Allie and Max at Beach Grove Golf and Country Club for their romantic outdoor engagement session. This beginning location was the perfect for them as we were able to blend Max’s love of golf with Allie’s love of the outdoors. Allie had her nails and makeup done earlier that day by Kayla from Hairway to Heaven, and looked radiant in the evening light that flooded the golf course.

We continued our outdoors theme and went to the nearby Lakewood Park for some beautiful sunset photos. As the light set over the park, Allie and Max walked hand in hand by the lake shore full of excitement and admiration, and we caught some beautiful shot of them, full of love, surrounded by the prettiest sunset.

Allie and Max we are so happy you both have found your best friend, and love how excited you are for your big day. We are too, and we can’t wait to see you both when that time comes!

Manifesto Wedding Photographers | Windsor Engagement photography | Beach Grove Golf Course and Country Club | Windsor, OntarioReviews about Manifesto“Choosing Manifesto Photography was a simple decision for Max and I. We were extremely impressed with their work with other couples and could not wait for our turn. Heading into the engagement session we were feeling a bit nervous, but that feeling was quickly replaced with joy and laughter. Arica and Josh made us feel so comfortable in front of the camera, and helped us to create pictures that really captured our personality. Working alongside them is effortless, and fun!

We truly love all of the photos that we received from Manifesto. Our engagement session was exactly what we had hoped for. Josh and Arica also work amazingly as a team, and were very willing to try new photos with us. They helped us to position ourselves in a way in which we would always take a natural looking picture. We are so grateful for our album and cannot wait until the wedding day! “-Allie & Max

Alyssa & Sean | Detroit Opera House | Windsor, Ontario Engagement Photographers

Whether it’s travelling through Europe together, creating their own costumes for ComiCon, or hosting large friends and family gatherings, Alyssa and Sean know how to have a good time and make the best of any situation. Sean and Alyssa’s adventurous personalities pair so well  together!

Alyssa and Sean engagement session took place at the Detroit Opera House, a beautiful theatre full of gilded gold, history (Louis Armstrong and Duke Ellington performed here!) and old elegance. These two enjoy the performing arts and going to the theatre; they even got engaged on the stage at the Capitol Theatre in Windsor (see the heartwarming video for that at the end of this blog post)! Needless to say, theatre plays a big part in their relationship and the Detroit Opera House, one of their all-time favourite auditoriums, was the perfect location to showcase their shared love of the performing arts. After shooting some beautiful portraits inside the grand main entrance, we went outside to the front of the building for some more light, airy, candid shots.

Alyssa and Sean, we were so thrilled to take your engagement photos and get to know you both better. We are so excited to see what’s in store for both of you this upcoming year, and can’t wait to be with you again on your wedding day!

Craig & Kayla | Water’s Edge Event Centre | Windsor, Ontario Wedding Photographers

Kayla and Craig’s story began in a cottage a few years back where they were introduced by mutual friends. The two hit it off pretty instantly, and they knew- through playful banter back and forth and stolen glances- that there was something there between them. From then, they pursued countless drives between Windsor and Ottawa to see each other, each time more and more painful to leave the other’s side. But distance made the heart grow fonder, and eventually Kayla moved to Windsor to satisfy both hearts’ cravings. Shortly after, the two decided to officially tie the knot in an intimate summer wedding, and we were so thrilled to be apart of their day!

Kayla’s morning started at Caesar’s Windsor with her maid of honour, both of them excited and full of energy. Kayla wore a stunning gown by Hayley Paige, a strapless lace sheath dress with a blush tulle overdress and a lace bodice. Her maid of honour, Danielle, wore a blush, tone-on-tone embroidered, sleeveless gown. The floral arrangements by Gails Flowers and Events added an extra touch of beauty with its cream hydrangeas, blush roses, and white poppies. They complimented the girls’ dresses perfectly!

Craig prepped for his day in Belle River with his brother, Christian. They had a great time getting ready that morning, taking their time and enjoying some scotch and snacks. Craig wore a navy suit from Freed’s accented with brown leather accessories. When Craig was finished getting ready, he stepped outside and found his grandfather’s storied custom Lincoln Town car waiting for him! What a heartfelt surprise! Kayla had managed to track down the current owner of Craig’s grandfather’s custom convertible and surprised Craig with it waiting in his driveway. It was incredibly special for him to be able to drive in his grandfather’s car to meet his bride-to-be for their first look at Willistead Manor.

Naturally, Water’s Edge Event Centre was timeless and elegant, accented with gold, white, blush and navy decor. Thyme To Go provided delicious hors d’oeuvres and desserts that guests enjoyed throughout the night. After thoughtful speeches were given by the bride and groom’s parents, as well as the maid of honour and best man, Kayla and Craig shared their first dance together followed by sunset photos outside of Waters Edge.

Kayla and Craig, it was a privilege to photograph you both for your engagement session and capture the special moments of your wedding day. We wish you all the best with your future together, and cannot wait to see what is in store for both of you!

Manifesto Photography | Windsor, Ontario Wedding Photographers | Waters Edge Event CentreReviews about Manifesto“From our very first meeting, Arica and Joshua made us feel like our wedding photography was in good hands. Neither Craig or I are super comfortable in front of the camera, but their cues and instructions really made the difference at both our engagement shoot and on the day of our wedding. I still hear Arica’s voice calling, “Kayla, posture; chin up; flowers down” whenever I’m posing for a photo.  Joshua and Arica’s services also reached far beyond just taking pictures. They helped us come up with the timeline for the entire day and on the day of our wedding they provided assistance tying bowties and removing my veil. They have always been prompt in their replies to questions and concerns and had valuable feedback and recommendations as we chose our vendors and venue. Joshua and Arica, thank you again for the great experience, we will cherish the memories and photos for years to come!” -Craig & Kayla

Andrew & Marie | The Old Harrow Mill | Windsor, Ontario Engagement Photographers

Andrew, one of the most personable and thoughtful guys you’d ever meet, started working at a non-profit agency to fulfill the placement requirements for his social work degree. It just so happened that a passionate and adorably positive young woman named Marie was a project assistant at the same Agency. As fate would have it, they soon became the best of friends. Office chats soon grew into long walks, and over time it became clear that Marie and Andrew’s meeting wasn’t happenstance. On December 19th, after a night of Christmas festivities with friends, Andrew asked Marie to become his happily ever after.

We met up with Marie and Andrew at The Old Harrow Mill, the perfect first location for their charming, engagement session. The exposed walls of The Mill gave off a cozy, romantic feeling and the beautiful vines and candles brought along by CJH Florals gave warmth and colour to the session. This easy setting allowed Marie and Andrew to relax and have fun celebrating this special moment in their lives, and you could see how smitten they were with one another from the very beginning of the shoot.

From there we went to an outdoor garden, secret and secluded, and settled down to take a few photos. Surrounded by lush, green, vines crawling up wood arbours, spacious lawns, and big pine trees- it really felt like we had stumbled upon our own personal Secret Garden. You could tell how at home Marie and Andrew felt in this beautiful, outdoor environment, how natural it was for them to be outside; they’re the kind of people who see the whole world as a garden just waiting to be discovered, and they’re always ready to explore it together.

Marie and Andrew, we were thrilled that you chose us to take your engagement and wedding photos! It means so much that people we hold so dear to our hearts would trust us with such important moments of their lives! You two are such beautiful souls, and we could not be happier that you have found each other. We cannot wait to celebrate with you next year on the best day ever, your wedding day!

As longtime fans of their work and childhood friends with Arica (Marie), working with Manifesto and their team was a no-brainer. When it came time to choose a photographer for this special time in our lives, we already knew the quality of Manifesto’s work and the depth of attention and care they put into it. It was easy to enjoy our shoot and to be ourselves in front of the camera when Arica and Josh were so encouraging, relaxed and fun throughout the entire process. Not only do we look forward to our wedding for the vows we will share with each other, but for the day we will share with our friends and family. We are so glad that Manifesto will be there to capture the day as it happens (and that we’ll get to hang out with them all day!) Thank you, Arica and Josh!” – Marie & Andrew
